Abstract：Wang Dong was a distinguished lyric writer in the 20th century. He made friends widely and had abundant works and was especially known as being good at learning from Zhou Bangyan. Veteran lyric writers such as Xia Jingguan, Mao Heting had spoken highly of him. His collection of lyrics as Mengqiu Ci, has 20 volumes. This article conducts research on Wang’s family, life, social activities and works on the basis of studying original documents, which are now rearranged in a chronological order . It is hoped that we can finally make clear Wang’s life and achievements in lyric writing.
