A Chronicle of Ding Ning

Abstract Ding Ning was a famous talented lyric writer in the period of the Public of China, who got a collection of lyrics as HuanXuan Ci. Suffering from hardships in life, she tried to express her feelings in works. In a result, strictly following the principles of lyric writing in Song Dynasty, she conveyed gloomy and sorrowful emotions in her works. Masters like Xia Chengtao, Long Yusheng, and Shi Zhecun also highly valued her lyrics. Based on the original materials, this thesis intends to do elaborate researches on her family, life, friends and writing activities in a chronological order.
